Gas Fireplace Inserts
If your home has a fireplace that is infrequently used and you have concerns about your home heating needs and effeciency, you may consider a gas insert as a way to bridge that gap. Known for their efficiency, inserts are designed to fit in an existing wood buring fireplace and be vented through an existing chimney via a vent pipe that carries the exhaust to the outside. When ignited, the fireplace insert draws in fresh air from outside to combust the fuel, warms air around the firebox and sends it via the fan assembly into a room. Air for combustion is drawn in from outside your home and a second vent pipe exhausts the fumes outside as well (direct vent sealed combustion), eliminating the negative vacuum on the home from the fireplace, making the fireplace insert very efficient. Either controlling your insert by remote, or automating it by thermostat can help to maximize the convenience of your fireplace appliance as well.
